Audience
Development
These
programs focus on introducing audiences to all of the state's
professional theatres both large and small. The Theatre Sampler
Series, one of the most popular audience development programs,
offers a low price mini-subscription of three different plays
at three different member theatres. This program encourages
an audience to try a theatre for the first time, as well as
helping to break down economic barriers. In the past eight
years, more than 30,000 people have benefited from this innovative
program. (top

Education
NJTA
has always considered arts education in its broadest sense
to be a core element of its mission. Family Week
at the Theatre is an annual statewide celebration for young
people and their families offering hundreds of free and discounted
tickets to mainstage productions, as well as backstage tours
and classes. In addition, workshops are held throughout the
state with teaching artists using theatre to teach young people
critical thinking skills such as creativity, communication,
self-esteem, and imagination. This program is a unique way
for all families, regardless of income or geographic location,
to experience the joy of live theatre. (top
